What is Traffup.net

Traffup.net is an online traffic exchange website. There are many websites of this kind and many fall in the category of the pay-per-click business, where you are encouraged to click on a website link in exchange of small monetary remuneration. Traffup is not that, as it does not pay you. But what Traffup does is give you points, which you can then use to encourage other users to click on your website in return of your visiting theirs.

How does it work

There are very few and easy steps to follow in order to start attracting traffic.

In first instance you must register as user of the website. You will be asked for your name and to create a password. Traffup makes use of captcha words and images at every stage of its process, in order to verify that it’s dealing with a person rather than a robot. So, both at the stage of creating an account, and every time that you log in, Traffup will ask to confirm that you are a person by re-typing a ‘captcha’ word it suggests to you.

And the game is done. Once you have created an account, you can start clicking on random websites which are proposed to you.

I have created a small video, which shows you step by step how quick and easy to use Traffup.net is:

As you can see, you put together points, which you then give back to other users every time they access your website.

Social exchange too

As I mention in the above video, Traffup is not designed to increase traffic

Increase your social media traffic with Traffup!

on your website solely. It can help attract traffic to your Twitter or YouTube an Instagram accounts, and to your Facebook pages.

The principle it works on is exactly the same. In the case of YouTube, you gain points by subscribing to YouTube accounts. You then spend those points every time that a Traffup member subscribes to your YouTube account.

No costs

Yes, you read it correctly. Using Traffup is completely FREE OF CHARGE! This means that there isn’t a membership fee at all, unlike with many other competitors on the market which sell traffic leads to your website for a fee of course.

Yes, it’s true, Traffup proposes a Traffup PRO package, which offers you additional points at a different cost depending on how long you want to remain pro. Being pro offers also the additional bonus of having your website link pushed at the top of the listing, and the fact that you are shown double the amount of website links to open and earn double points.

I am not disputing the true value of being a Pro member on Traffup, but personally I have never purchased any points package, hence I have never been a Pro. I have never needed to spend extra money when I could gain traffic for free.

As a Pro member you reach a higher exposure by other members.

How Traffup survives in spite of free membership

Well, one of Traffup revenues is in fact through the Pro membership. However I believe that the highest source of income for Traffup is through advertisements. As a website or business owner, you can ‘hire’ ad space on Traffup, where your own banner will be displayed for a number of days.

This is certainly another fruitful way to attract traffic to your website and to increase your business. I have never enquired with Traffup directly regarding this way of marketing my business, as it is not something that interests me – or not yet, at least. However I expect, like with all means of purchasing ad space on any website or search engine, you need to work out whether the expense is financially viable to your purse.

Not everyone likes Traffup

Some question the validity of Traffup based on two main concerns.

The first argument used against Traffup is that it will not attract anyone who is genuinely interested in purchasing your services from your website. What they say is that everyone clicking on your website or Instagram account, or on any other of your accounts through Traffup is there for the same purpose as you: gain traffic.

I argue, that’s exactly what Traffup should be for, and nothing else! By gaining you traffic, your website will get ranked higher in SEO rankings, and then will be seen more prominently by those visitors who are browsing the website for the specific niche you are tackling. Those visitors, and not the Traffup users, are the ones who are going to access your website to gain information and to obtain the true help they need.

The second concern regards the fact that Traffup is seen as time-consuming for website authors who need to boost traffic to their website. I have read there are other automated ‘bot’ systems on the market, which will attract traffic for your website automatically. This means you do not have to sit there and manually access individual websites or social media accounts, and wait the fifteen seconds before being able to click on the correct captcha image and get your points assigned.

I agree, this may sound time-consuming. In reality though, search engines are sensitive to robot performed automated website visits. This packages are sold to you, and they will end up penalizing your website by the very fact that the traffic is intercepted by SEO as fake.

But Traffup gives you more…

Yes, you got it. Traffup has an affiliate program. Again, it does not pay you money, but rewards you in points.

Traffup referral program works on three levels, where not only you earn 100 points for every person that signs up introduced by you, but you also earn on their point purchases. The same earning scheme works then on two more levels up on referrals and purchases made by people that were introduced by your referral, and by your referral’s referral.

My verdict

What do I think of Traffup? Well, I definitely approve of Traffup, and wish there were more websites offering the same service for free like Traffup.

Yes, admittedly it can take time to gather a bunch of points, and these are then used up quite quickly by other users clicking on your website links or on your social media account. But, given the mechanical exercise, sometime, I’ll admit, I have a bit of Traffup session while watching telly or in between browsing on other sites.

Traffup does not necessarily require a computer to function. I am not sure how well it works on a smartphone, but it surely works perfectly well on tablets.

The main thing, however, is that it does work, indirectly, in attracting traffic. Through the captcha system of having to verify your login details with a captcha word, or having to match a captcha picture, the traffic members generate to your website or to your social media accounts or YouTube is read as organic, and not robot generated.

The only restriction I can see to Traffup is that users are allowed to add up to ten links from their websites. This can become limiting when you start building up a lot of content for our websites. In this case, the only solution is to rotate the links of each individual article to push them through the traffic gathering system in turn.

The one thing I can guarantee, however, is that whenever I use Traffup, I then notice traffic increases on my websites (and you can check this by registering your websites on Google Search Console) and so does my income!

I hope you shall give Traffup a go and put it to the test to see if it suits your needs as a home based business owner – yes, because that’s what you are, and you can carry that title with pride! I would like to hear from you to find out what you think of it, and whether you think it’s a waste of time or in fact it does work. By all means, do leave your comment and I shall answer each and every of you!!

  1. Interesting post-Giulia. I wasn’t aware of Traffup and despite some of the limitations as you point out, it looks like a very easy and useful program to help increase free traffic to one’s website.

    Will check it out.

    1. Rui, I hope you will enjoy using it. And, most importantly, I hope you will see an improvement in traffic levels to your website. I can assure you that using Traffup is very easy and, why not, fun. And yes, whilst you may not delve into the more specific concepts approached by the websites you visit, you can actually get ideas of material for you to research on. So yes, all good.
By all means though, Rui, do let me know if you need any help. You can contact me directly by email on giulia@ideasforhomeworking.com

  2. Although I’m not a big fan of traffic exchanges, you really do outline everything there is to offer. What I actually DO like about this one is that it seems so simple to use and easily generates free traffic for our websites. It is also free, which is never bad thing either!

    1. A lot of people, Brandon, twitch their nose at the prospect of non-organic traffic. I make no secret of the fact that the traffic obtained through Traffup may not convert, but, as you mention, it’s a free avenue, and it does attract traffic nonetheless. To me it’s a win-win outcome.
Thank you for your input and by all means do come back for more reading!

  3. I am learning so much from people like you. I am glad to have run across this page.
I did not know that a place like this existed. I am happy and cannot wait to get started with this site and bringing traffic to my site. thanks.

    1. Bob, I far from being a guru in the field. And that’s why I liked Traffup from day one. Because Traffup is really easy to use, no big gimmicks, no fake promises. You get what it promises. I’ll be glad to help you if you need any assistance with it 😊

  4. Thank you for sharing this article. I’ve been looking for an inexpensive way to increase my traffic and I am glad I came to your website. I am going to check it out and see if it is going to help. Thank you for the explanation.

    1. Hong, you are very welcome. I hope you will find it a feasible and valuable solution. As mentioned in other comments below, it is completely free, so it would be unfair to blame it of not delivering traffic that converts. It is a traffic exchange system after all, but traffic is what it delivers. And all for FREE!

  5. Love your site layout and awesome post! I am aspiring to work from home and have never heard of Traffup. You have some really valuable tips here. Will definitely be giving it a try and bookmarking your website!

    1. Thank you ever so much Dwight. From what you are saying, it seems that we are following the same path, and that’s exactly my aim: to help people along the way, through my own direct experience. I’ve now tried and tested Traffup for a long while, and I can promise you that it does work. Give it a go, and let me know if you find it’s benefiting your website.

  6. Well thought out and interesting article Indeed, For some reason google doesn’t like the unwanted and useless flow of traffic and it’s considered as that bad for SEO, Maybe Traffup.net is using something relevant in the eyes of Google, but Individually, Organic traffic is by far the best way to leverage our content and let users click on our links. I have also been tried out many such platforms before but either they are limited for free users or not providing value to them. However, This is my personal my opinion for Traffup.net. Anyway, I’ll give it a shot and check the traffic out. Thanks for having me converted.

    1. I’m not saying Traffup manages to fool the biggest SEO giants, Ankit, but with the use of captcha words and images it certainly confirms to search engines that the person visiting is an individual and not a robot.
I’m not making secret, Ankit, of the fact that such traffic will not convert nor monetise for the majority, but I can only vouch for my own experience. And I can assure that I have seen the difference from when I don’t submit a blog to Traffup to when I do. And it’s a tangible difference, one not to be ignored. I hope you will give it a go, and by all means will let me know how you get on.

  7. It takes a lot of time and effort to increase traffic, and it took time till i finally understood how to google ranking system really works. Somehow i never heard about Traffup before, probably because it’s a new website, however i really don’t like systems where you have to click on specific links to earn cents, it’s really annoying. Thanks for the info.

    1. I agree, Rich, I hate pay-per-click solutions myself, as I don’t see them much as solutions at all, but rather as a time consuming exercise, where our very precious time could be put to a worthier cause. Yet, I see the beauty of Traffup just in this: it does not reward you in pennies – or cents – but in points which you then reinvest in encouraging others to click on your sites or social media accounts. To me it’s a win win situation.

If you feel, when you have 5 minutes to spare (it takes less than that to set up your account) give it a go, and then let me know

  8. Hey friend,

Thanks a lot for sharing this good news with me. I have a new website and as you know, getting traffic for your new website from search Engines like, Google, Yahoo and Bing isn’t an easy task at all.

I have never heard about Tufftup before. Today is my first time of hearing about this wonderful way of getting FREE Traffic to my website.

Since Tufftup is FREE to Sign Up I’m going to sign up now and start using their service to generate some FREE Traffic to my website.

    1. That’s great news, Stephen. Let me know how you get on, and by all means do contact me again, should you need any help getting started

    1. My own personal experience, Maurice, tells me that traffic obtained through Traffup does convert. As explained, yes, I don’t believe people visiting your website will necessarily click on your affiliate links, but they will contribute to push up your your site in ranking, so that then your site becomes more prominent in the top Google pages and then becomes more visible by those visitors that want to convert.
At the end of the day, Maurice, it’s a free option, and you have nothing to loose by trying it. I keep using Traffup, as it does help my exposure.
Thank you for reading my honest review, and I hope you’ll come back soon.

  9. The article was very informative and quite interesting. I agree that one of main problems with owning a website is how to increase traffic. Using a point system which is free to encourage people to visit different websites is a good idea but this might not boost sales. It might create artificial traffic which looks good on the surface but does it improve google rankings? I might try Traffup.

    All the best,

    1. I agree, Roger, such traffic does not convert, as I mention in my review. Does it improve ranking? Yes, it certainly has improved the ranking of both my websites, and with not much effort, NOR ANY COSTS, on my part. Give it a go. It will be interesting to know whether you find this system beneficial too 🙂

  10. Wow thanks for the info! I never knew about opportunities like this. I am interested in this but I think I will wait until i have a stronger foundation with my website since I am still pretty new to the game.

    1. Actually, Jeremy, don’t feel shy to start using Traffup from the start. You can use your first URLs to help your website grow non-organic traffic. If you need any help, well, you know where to find me 🙂

  11. Hi Giulia,

great post. You explain it so well. I also watched your video and that gave a great eample of how to use Traffup. Well done. I must admit I am not a huge fan of this type of software as I worry Google may penalise you. But you explain it so well and it it appears legit.

I will have to reassess my thinking. Thanks so much for a great and informative post 🙂

    1. Kev, I encourage you to try it out, because I can assure you that, for personal experience, so far none of my websites have been penalised in any way. And I’ve been using Traffup for over a year!
Thanks for your input, and of course drop us a line or email me at giulia@ideasforhomeworking.com, if I can be of any more help 🙂

  12. Hi Giulia

I’ve never heard of Traffup before but I think it is a fantastic idea and one I want to pursue.

I totally get the point of increasing ranks and it does not matter where theses visits come from as your ranking will improve to a point that your target audience will find your website thanks to like minded people helping each other to get ranked in the first place.

It’s a system I am familiar with in another forum I belong to 🙂

    1. Darren, I am glad you approve of Traffup system. Not everybody agrees with this system of increasing your ranking. Some are concerned it may actually affect your ranking as not ‘read’ as organic traffic by search engines. The fact that Traffup uses captcha recognition helps search engines distinguish between the human visits via Traffup from the ‘bot’ visits with other automated systems. There are a lot of bot systems, which in fact charge a fee to purchase leads. Traffup doesn’t charge a penny, and in this is equally a winning solution.
Yes please, give it a try. I am sure you will find it as awesome as I do.

  13. Hello Giulia, thanks for sharing this interesting blog with us. I have signed up for Traffup, and it is a success!!! Traffic are starting to come to my website, slowly, but surely. I will continue to use this platform. Thanks again, and continue to do what you do!!!

    1. Ahmad, thank you ever so much. I am pleased to hear you took the plunge and signed up. And I am equally pleased to hear that your traffic has grown for your website as a result of using Traffup. Personally, I saw a growth in traffic as soon as I started using it, and that was over a year ago. For this reason I have never stopped using Traffup, as it still proves more than valid on all my websites and posts.
I hope you will come back to my website to find more ideas on how make a success of your website and of your home based online business 🙂
